Eat your ham ...

Me:  Keegan, can you help encourage your brother to eat all his ham please.

Keegan (6): Aden!  Eat all you ham or I'll break your water guns into a million pieces!

Me:  KEEGAN!  That's just mean!

A (4) <looks distraught>

Keegan:  What?!?  I wasn't really going to do it!

Me:  But Aden doesn't know that!  So that's why it's mean.  Encouraging would be saying something like "Hey buddy, eat all your ham and we can go out and play together!"

Keegan:  Well why didn't you tell me?!?!  I didn't know!

Good grief.

That's weird.

Aden (4): How old am I in that picture Mommy?

Me: You're just a baby sweetie.

A: Yeah, but how OLD am I?

Me: Well, if you're just a baby you weren't even one yet.

A: So I was zero but I was still alive? That's weird.

The Diplomat

Me: (in a bad singing voice) Soooooorry for party rockin' ...

Aden (4): Can you turn up the TV?

Me: What? You don't love my singing?

Keegan (6): (smiling sweetly) We love your singing mommy, this just isn't the time for it.

Easter Bunny

When we came downstairs this morning and the kids saw all the eggs "hidden" all over the place...

Me: Good thing I remembered to put the cats in the basement last night before I went to bed!
Rowan: (eyes wide and giggling) Yeah! I bet a giant rabbit would scare the heck outta them!

They're not the only ones Rowan.

LOL.

Snowman

Keegan (6): Hey mommy, can I go outside and guard our snowman?

Me: I don't think you need to guard the snowman...

Keegan: Yes, I do!  A bird could come and take the sticks to make a nest!

Me: That's true!

Keegan:  It is???  I was just saying that so I could go outside!

I love the honesty!

Mack attack!

Me (to my niece Mackenzie):  Hey Mackey, are you surly?

Mackey (3):  Nope.

Me:  Are you bossy?

Mackey:  Nope.  I'm pretty.

'Nuff said.
